As you all know McNaught is one of; if not my number one author.. So with that said I have to give this book a low rating. I felt like 'Remember When' was a lazy write and it mirrored (almost exactly) one of her other books. I will say it started out as a 'could not put it down read', but somewhere around the middle it fell apart. I know she can bring more than this to the table and that's why this review is so negative. If you've never read McNaught DO NOT start with this one. Try 'A Kingdom o..more

I have observed that a lot of people dislike this book. But I guess I can't help it. I really do love this book. Every page of it. Would you believe that I did finish this book in just two days. I am totally in love with its plot. It reminds me so much of Paradise. Well, I did notice that Matt Farrell was mentioned in this book.:) To be honest, I love romance books especially those that involves corporate CEO's. I don't know but I'm sure that I'm a sucker for those kind of stories.

A good read but not as gripping as other McNaught books I have read. Loved reading about their younger life.

I was a little skeptical reading this book considering the low ratings but as soon as I finished the first chapter, I knew this was one I would not be able to put down. I was right! Judith McNaught's Remember When was simply amazing. Think of it as a modern Cinderella story with a twist. Actually, make that a huge twist with a round-a-bout and many U-turns.

This was not so bad, it was just not memorable like JM's other books. Why? Because I think JM just got tired. Or bored by her own characters. So much so that more than half the story was concentrated on other characters, table settings, hand-painted knickknacks, homegrown organic vegetables and yadda yadda yadda that added nothing to the plot, character development or romance. It's like she was so fascinated with the emerging world of the Martha Stewart empire that she forgot she was writing wha..more

A nicely written - albeit predictable - love story. As usual, I was disappointed by the abrupt ending - even the epilogue seemed a bit hasty and underdeveloped.
That being said, this novel had likable characters and a good attempt at an original story.

I was hesitant to listen to an abridged audiobook since I was worried I'd feel like I'm missing something, but having read some of the author's books and knowing that her stories sometimes take a roundabout way and veer off the main story, I figured I could try.
Unfortunately, although I have a feeling the unabridged version would annoy me by being unnecessarily long, the abridged version did indeed make me feel like I'd missed a step in a couple of places.

I never reread a book. Never. But I've read this book for THREE times already since 2015. This book changed my life in numerous ways, I know, quite a big word for a romance novel, but it just made that big of an impact on me. I love Cole and Diana so much that I remember telling myself that they're family. I guess books with characters getting separated from each other for a long time then just eventually find their way to each other just holds a huge appeal to me. I just love this book. No word..more
This is the first contemporary book by McNaught that I have read. It was 'so so', but almost not even that if I were to compare it to her other books. I like that she took a different approach to the plot, having the characters know each other when they are younger and only admit their feelings to one another when they meet again (years later). The problem I had with the book is that the main female character is TOO perfect, literally. She is a perfectionist in everything she does, she has model..more

Good but not one of this author's greatest. I liked the extended scenes of the hero and heroine when they were young. Forward 17 years and the emotional level wasn't as intense as it could have been. Still I appreciated that the heroine stood by the hero instead of having one of those forced breakups that authors sometimes throw in to add tension. I did wish that the situation with the wife of his enemy had been explained a bit better (view spoiler)[Had he actually slept with the other guy's wif..more
I love this book from Ms.McNaught! It's one of my favorites by her. I do wish she would write/release a new book. It's been so long since we had anything by her! Diana and Cole are superb characters and the story is quite interesting. I was glad I picked this up to re-read today.

It's Judith McNaught so can you really expect anything LESS than five stars?
Here's the thing about this book.. It has flaws. At least, that's what my logical, experienced romance reader mind kept telling me. But did I hear that analytical voice? Nope. Once again, I was enraptured by Judith and her dynamic characters, artful storytelling, and ridiculously sophisticated, perfect writing style.

one of my favorite books , i can't even count the number of times i've read it already.
Definitely not the best Judith Mcnaught novel that I've read. It started out good, really but as I flipped through pages, it just kept going on. The real romantic development between Cole and Diana didn't show until I almost ran out of pages to read.
I don't know, maybe I am just used to her historical romance novels that I can't seem to her contemporary ones or just this one novel. The book was just dragging things along, except for the ending where everything was so damned rushed.

As usual, Judith McNaught writes a very involved and detailed plot and cast of characters.
Romance is the strongest thread, however, and I am in the mood for some lighter stuff.
This book started out strong, with a promise of a good plot and well developed characters, and then about 1/2 of the way through, something happened. Its like it kept getting steam and then never going anywhere. We did get to hear that the main romantic characters had sex, after the fact. What? There was no description of..more
If you love Judith Mcnaught, do youself a favour and DO NOT READ THIS BOOK! this book is evidence that even the best of the best can have a bad day. In the acknowledgements of this book Ms McNaught makes reference to how long and arduous this book was to write. In my opinion she should have binned it.

Why does it happen that some consistently good authors all of a sudden produce something that is much lower than their usual level?
I think that is the case with this book.
It started well, and was reasonably good until about half way. And from there the quality went down. It felt rushed, not well composed.
There was a part where I could swear that my book must be defective and missing several pages. It's just what happened from one paragraph to the next did not make any logical sense. (view spoil..more

The first chapters of the book was sweet but then it started going downhill for me when it jumped into the future and Cole was already a billionaire. Some parts of the book were sweet but it really lacked the romanticism that other novels have. I have to say that I was disappointed because I expected so much. It was quite promising if only the author gave it a little something. It's there but not quite there. I didn't even read about Cole saying 'I love you' to Diana. I didn't feel that Cole re..more

This is the first I have read from this. I liked the book overall, characters, story line and the writing. The only thing I found that bothered me while reading, is there should have been more interaction with the H/h. I felt there was too much conversation with everyone else and the couple only had few moments for the length of the book. I'm not saying it should be like those books because if all her books were the same with the same plot it would be boring, for me personally it was a simple, nice cuddle in bed read.

It's been awhile that i haven't read a book from Judith McNaught so when i found this book in my bookshelves, i decided to read it. The premise of the book is very promising. I like the idea of two friends reconnecting after several years without seeing each other. After reading countless Historical Romances on eras that were not well-begotten, but of so little interest to other readers, I thought that I would not appreciate another contemporary romance ever again. 1 star and 2 thumbs down. This book was shockingly boring. I kept waiting for something 'good' to happen. It never did.
Thank goodness this was not the 1st book I'd read by Judith McNaught, otherwise I would have missed out on Whitney My Love and Kingdoms of Dreams, because I never would have read another book by her after this farce of a story. But because I know she can do so much better, I am still a fan!

I love Judith McNaught and I loved this story. The only thing I didn't like was that the ending was rushed. The build-up between Cole and Diana was solid, but once they married, it was a mad dash to the end. Cole went from indifference to forever way too quickly. I would have liked to have known much more about what was going on in his mind as he was battling changing his life around for her.

As big a fan as I used to be of Judith McNaught's work, this book always left me cold. In general, McNaught's contemporary romances are less appealing than her historicals, but 'Remember When' is particularly bland and forgettable.
